Your Session

The most important thing is simply engaging with each other rather than staring at the camera.

But don't worry—you’ll still get gorgeous portraits looking right at the lens, both together and individually! Along with those classic shots, we’ll capture all the tender details and quiet moments. Seasons of life change, but these photos will keep this exact chapter preserved forever.

What to wear

What you wear in a photo session is just as important as all the other details such as lighting and location. Choosing the right outfits and colors will flatter you and make you look and feel your best!

Coordinate, Don't Match

Choosing a cohesive color palette creates beautiful depth and dimension in your photos. Avoid having everyone wear the exact same color, as coordinated tones look much more natural and elevated.

Choose Your Color Palette

Select 2 to 3 main colors to build your outfits around. Lay out all the clothes together on the floor or bed before the session—this gives you a clear visual of how all the tones and colors work together!

Start with Yourself First

Build the wardrobe around your outfit first. Since it’s often hardest to choose what we want to wear, pick a piece that makes you feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful, then coordinate everyone else’s look from there.

Mind the Colors and Patterns

• Avoid neon and bright colors: High-visibility hues can reflect unwanted color casts onto your skin tone in photos.
• Keep logos off: Choose clothing without logos or brand text to keep the focus entirely on you.
• Balance prints and neutrals: If you’d like someone to wear a pattern or print, limit it to 1 or 2 outfit pieces. Keep the rest of the outfits in solid neutrals or coordinating colors so the photos don't feel overwhelming.

Wear What Makes You Feel Good

Dresses add a timeless, romantic movement to photos, but they are by no means required! A cute jumpsuit, a chic top-and-bottom combo, or whatever feels most authentically you will always look best.
